St. Pieter's, Rome (Escher)
St. Pieter’s basilica was started in 1506 year on Vatican hill. There was killed Apostle St. Pieter. Knowing nothing about that, I started to stitch it on 500 years anniversary. I was amazed by its sublime.
The words in picture means “I will give the keys of the kingdom of heaven…” The whole context sounds: “I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven; whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven” (Matthew 16:19). /Thanks Agni for explaining those words. /
Young Matriarch (Mystic Stitch)
When I first saw it - his beauty captivated me. They are the biggest mammals on earth. They are very smart and looks pretty sweat.
In nature elephant groups are led by the eldest female, or matriarch. All knowledge of life is given to young females. This should explain the meaning of title.
In picture “Young Matriarch” you see a scene of free elephant’s life. They are often followed by birds, because when they move, they scare a lot of insects from the grass.
